At Appboy, we’re committed to helping large global teams manage their growth and engagement strategies. Today, we’re pleased to announce two new features geared toward supporting growing customer bases and departments.

Managing global teams

As mobile tech continues to conquer the world, brands are able to expand their reach further and faster than ever before. This global expansion has created new needs around managing a global audience—local teams need to manage the markets they know best, while reporting and account management rolls up to a central HQ.

With the release of Teams, Appboy makes it easy to manage regional or global teams, covering territories across the world. You can provision regional Teams with permissions to manage the customers that they’re most familiar with, while a centralized group controls and coordinates the communication and reporting across all markets. Teams can be split out by any dimension that matters to your business, such as your customer’s country, language, or a Custom Attribute.

Supporting stricter security

Appboy allows brands such as Tinder, Jet.com, and SoundCloud to instantly reach massive audiences with the click of a button. With this power, however, comes a responsibility to your customers to protect their security and privacy against unwanted incursions.

Additionally, some industries such as finance and health care mandate strict security policies to ensure the protection of user data. It’s an important part of our mission of making personalized customer engagement available everywhere to meet the compliance needs of even the most stringent regulatory environments.

To help provide tighter information security, we’re proud to announce a collection of new security options designed to protect you and your audience:

  • Enable two-factor authentication to require all Appboy users to verify their account by authenticating with their mobile phone.
  • Ensure password security with mandatory password complexity and expiration requirements.
  • Use IP address whitelisting to protect calls made to our API endpoints or ensure that users of the Appboy dashboard are on an approved company VPN.

These security features allow you to keep your account secure and meet the policies of your IT team, ensuring tighter security for your account and allowing you to continue to bring the most engaging brand experience possible to your customers.

These upgrades join a growing list of features to help you scale and juggle responsibilities across regions. In 2015, we released Tags to help marketers running hundreds of campaigns organize and manage their work. In early 2016, we announced our first European-based data center in Frankfurt, Germany to serve our growing customer base in the European Union. Earlier this fall we opened up Canvas as a way to imagine, build, and optimize customer journeys.
